The following is a short example story of a story concept which i am still writing. I thought i'd give it to you as sort of a sneak preview until i can finish the one i am working on. Remember this is just a preview of the concept and not a short version of the story in the works.

It all started as an insight upon reflection. The idea was simple yet elusive. It all focussed around the notion of mirrors. In essence the theory was this: when you look in a mirror you are not actually seeing yourself but you are seeing into a dimension that coincides with our own. With this known I could now research on my theory. After much inquiry I came upon a book of spells with a chant that would open the passage to another dimension using the mirror as a medium.
I had nothing better to do with my time so I decided to try the chant. I got in front of a large mirror and began the chant. As I chanted the image in the mirror changed at slow rate. The structure of the room remained the same but the condition of the room deteriorated. I finished the last word of the chant and the image in the mirror stopped changing. I reached out towards the mirror and as my fingers touched what used to be the glass, they appeared to dissolve into the mirror. With the next thought I took a step forward into the mirror.
I took the last step out of the mirror and turned around to look at the mirror I had entered this dimension with. It seemed primitive with the edges of the mirror irregular. Just then I heard an odd sound. As I turned around to see what it was, a rock came soaring towards me. Reflects kicked in and I jumped out of the way and the rock hit the mirror, shattering it to pieces. Whatever it was that threw the rock ran off.
I now sat off on exploring this new world. As I walked more and more I discovered that the rest of this world must be as primitive as the room with the mirror. I also noticed that there were no other mirrors in this place. At this point I realize that my departure depends on the finding of another mirror.
